Valaisan at heart, professional snowboarder and musician Pat Burgener of Lausanne is one of Crans-Montana's ambassadors.
As a child, I spent all my holidays here. I discovered snowboarding here when I was about 6 or 7, when it all began. Today, I live here part of the year, very close to the resort. When I need to recharge my batteries, mentally and/or physically, I head for the Six Senses spa with its extraordinary infrastructures.
I tried my hand at several disciplines, but I really fell for snowboarding. It was a real revelation for me. I devoted all my energy to it and became a professional at the age of 14.
Music is another of my passions. Very early on, my parents encouraged us to practise a sport and play an instrument. I have always played the guitar. I now sing as well. When I was injured at age 18, I took advantage of it to work on my musical career.
It's a huge challenge, but it's also a source of good vibes. I give myself body and soul to whatever I undertake. It requires a lot of self-discipline. After dedicating a long period of time to music, 90 dates in Europe last summer, I went back to competing. The aim is to prepare for the 2025 World Championships and the Olympic Games in Milan, in 2026.
The ski domain is, of course, an absolute must. Personally, I love the Chetzeron slope, because it runs straight down to my chalet! In summer, I also appreciate the golf-course, one of the loveliest in Europe, the skate park and Alaïa Bay in Sion.
To be happy, you have to do what you love. Listen to yourself and follow your heart!
