She's already spent more than half her life practicing yoga: meet Lauren Battaglia, the resort's yoga teacher.
It was during my freshman year in college at 18. I attended a Hatha yoga class that taught me to use breath to de-stress. The experience was transformative, laying the foundation for a lifelong journey in physical and mental wellness.
I have 24 years of personal practice, and 14 years of teaching. I first became certified in Modo Yoga, a hot Hatha style. As my practice evolved, I pursued intensives in Ashtanga, Yin, Kundalini, Iyengar Yoga, and earned a separate meditation certification from the Integral Yoga Institute.
I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Nidra and Pranayama (breathwork), as well as flying and restorative yoga. And, of course, pilates.
Yoga Nidra, also known as called "yogic sleep", is a guided meditation practice that induces deep relaxation and a state of conscious awareness. It allows the body to rest deeply while the mind remains alert.
The word yoga means to yoke, to bring union between the mind and body. Its practice offers sophisticated tools for developing a body intelligence that is often neglected. By learning to listen to our body's signals, we re-establish a deep connection with ourselves and cultivate lasting well-being.
The list is endless, but I will say that it has changed my relationships and continues to influence all areas of my life.
